QMLP ships prepared scrap from our Hamilton, Ontario Rail Siding Facility, primarily to the United States with offshore capabilities.
At our large facility strategically placed in the industrial hub of the Greater Toronto Area, state-of-the-art equipment is used to process both ferrous and non-ferrous metals to industry specifications. The scrap is then shipped to mills and foundries in both Canada and the United States.
Scrap Metal is a commodity and on occasion represents up to 50% of the customer's raw materials. QMLP marketing strategies insure maximized value for our customers.
Given the high costs of transporting scrap, the more you can move in one load the more cost-efficient it is. That´s why we´ve introduced larger, highway legal trailer tubs with the largest cubic foot capacity available. For our customers, this results in the lowest cost per ton transportation, whatever the scrap. This is another example of how Thomson delivers a competitive edge for all its valued customers.
